"Your Children Are Just Human"
Live recording at Vaxholm's Church, Sweden
In learning how to be truly human, lies the most profound pathway to God
                                                                                                    ----José Poleon-Henry----

What has happened to us, as humans, that makes us unable to reconcile with the fact that God has created us as human and already knows and understand what we face?! Why are we often so afraid approach love, which is God, in an uncensored, honest way?

In the very fact of our fallibility lies illimitable strength and boundless capacity for love, if we only learn to approach it with honesty. When I say "boundless capacity for love" I need you to understand that it means the same as "boundless capacity for God" because God and love are the same.

When it comes to the whole idea and existence of God, we are able to do this because of our humanity and ONLY because of this. So stand in the worthiness of this fact that we are not separated from God because we are flesh but we are rather CONNECTED to God through this!

I hope that this song will encourage you today as you deal with the ups and downs. We have thoughts that we wish nobody would ever know we have. We also commit, time and time again, the great "dishonour" that we sometimes bestow upon ourselves as we deal with the struggles and lessons in our humanness. As the song says "sometimes it takes a hundred falls just to obey one of your calls" and this is exactly how it is for us and this is exactly how God knows it would be and that is why the great virtues of patience, grace and redemption are learned through the journey.

How could you learn about patience, grace and redemption if it were not for these walls that we often hit again and again, even when we know that we should take a new path. It's in these experiences that we learn about the great patience that God imparts through love and then see how worthy we are of it when we are given this great patience and grace and what redemption truly means over and over and over agian. We thus learn to embrace it as part of us because God has instilled that FACT in us through our very fallible humanity and the unfailing love that persists despite it all!

May this song be a prayer for you who, perhaps, has needed to pray a prayer like this or to embrace such a philosophy but could not find the words to bring it to life. Remember this, as I share with you from my gift through my purpose, so can you as you embrace your humanity and thus free yourself from all barriers between you and LOVE, which is GOD!

           Verse 1

You see the thoughts that come my way

I wish you didn’t know the things that they contain

And your light exposes in me the things that I don’t want to see, uhuh

Oh Lord

Refrain

Yes,  you know the longing so deep inside of my humanness

You know the lessons I should have learned but I still regress

Over and over you pull me to you and love away my shame

Then the darkness calls and I lose my faith in the space of one minute

And I fall again

Refrain-outro

But your children, your children they’re just human Lord

Your children, your children are just human Lord

So have mercy

Verse 2

So many times I’ve abused your grace

By dishonouring the man I am, uh huh

Sometimes it takes a hundred falls just to obey one of your calls

Oh Lord

Refrain

Yes, you know the struggle so deep inside of my humanness

You know the lessons I should have learned but I still regress

Over and over you have pulled me to you and told me all is well

Then temptation calls and I lose my faith in the space of one minute and I fall again

Refrain outro

But your children, your children they’re just human Lord

Your children, your children are just human Lord

So have mercy

Bridge

I’ve tried to be an angel

And failed so miserably

I’ve tried to be so holy, to live this life so perfectly

But honestly, the taste of sin is sweet sometimes

Oh, and then it seems the call of your voice is so far behind

Oh Lord

Final Refrain (outro)

But your children,

Your children

Your children. your children

They’re just human Lord

oh oh oh oh oh oh oh

        Your children,

Your children

Your children

The apple of your eyes

But sometimes they fall apart inside

Lord have mercy
